Job Description Nix Hydra is looking for a part time to full-time contractor mobile games QA Lead to bring QA expertise to our small team of developers and content creators. This position owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of content, features and functionality. You will decide the readiness of the content and manage app releases. You will be part of a rapidly iterating development team working closely with developers and content creators. We ideally need a versatile team player with organizational skills and a willingness to wear many hats, with the desire to learn all aspects of the mobile game business. NOTE: Please do not apply for this role if you do not have mobile games QA experience. Responsibilities: Review stories for grammar, typos, spelling, and story continuity Creating comprehensive test strategies, test cases, and test cycles. Log and track issues related to multiple projects Engage in planning and risk assessment across releases on multiple titles. Extensive story reading and game testing throughout the development cycle (IOS & Android devices). Assigning test cases to individuals who function in other roles outside of QA (e.g. make specific QA assignments to the writer, designer, editor or engineer). Make builds for submission to Apple and Google (we use Unity and Xcode) Track and maintain a test suite of devices, advising management of all new requirements in the QA process (for instance, new devices, new operating systems, etc.). Advocating for users by raising flags when poor user experience occurs. Acting as point person for audience reported bugs. Acting as the release manager for multiple updates to the product. Establishing and evolving mobile QA processes. Help drive and prioritize test automation. You must have permanent work authorization in the United States. Qualifications: 3 years experience working in a QA leadership role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Familiarity with issue tracking software like Jira or Github. Experience writing test plans and overseeing the QA process in its entirety. Expert on Android/IOS devices. Must have experience working for a mobile gaming company. Comfortable wearing multiple hats. Experience with start-up culture. Desire to join a small friendly team. Sense of humor.
