Los Angeles office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a mid-level corporate associate attorney with 3+ years of experience practicing corporate law with experience in M&A, emerging companies, or venture work.
The candidate will advise clients on a broad range of corporate matters.
Will maintain up to date knowledge of industry laws and regulations, perform legal research, and provide updates to and regularly consult with senior associate(s) and partners.
Advise clients concerning business transactions, which can range in complexity from simple to complex.
Prepare, draft, and review legal documents, such as contracts, leases, licenses, applications, and real estate documents.
Contribute to the firm’s success by continuously improving client relations, profitability, productivity and the collective expertise in cannabis law and the industry that defines the firm.
Attend firm sponsored events or participate in networking groups.
Advise clients with typical startup legal transactions (e.g., convertible note financings, Series A financings) with minimal oversight.
Real estate experience is desirable.
Am Law 200 experience is a plus.
Must be an attorney licensed in California.
The candidate must have a J.D.
degree and be well versed in contract drafting.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with clients, the public and individuals at all levels of the organization in a positive, collaborative manner.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Net Docs, Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, DocuSign and Clio preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are needed.
