JOB PURPOSEResponsible for analysis and preliminary underwriting of loan requests and drafting of multifamily loan recommendations as directed by Multifamily Loan Officers.
Assist Multifamily Loan Officers in loan production functions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES+ Analyze rent rolls, historical operating statements, leases, title reports, market surveys on income properties.
Provides analysis of financial statements, tax returns, and entity documents on borrowers/guarantors.
Also analyzes market conditions.+ Responsible for collecting property data, title reports, operating history, financial statements and entity documents.
Identifies critical market conditions to gather applicable market data.+ Prepare rent roll, operating history comparisons, proforma economics, borrower descriptions, including key principals and financial statement summary, quote summaries, loan applications, and lease abstracts.+ Responsible for creating loan submissions in Lender-acceptable format with narrative analyses of the property, location, market conditions, occupancy, tenancy, operating history and proforma income and expense analysis.+ Responsible for preparing loan quote summaries for presentation to borrowers followed by loan applications.
Performs full due diligence, including reporting conclusions of analyses.
Prepares lease abstracts after full review of all leases.+ Responsible for ordering third party reports (MAI appraisal, Property Conditions/ Seismic Audit, Phase 1 Environmental, Survey).
Analyzes all third party reports to prepare recommendation letters to lenders.+ Responsible for maintaining clear communication channels with all parties (borrowers, lenders, third party professionals), reporting loan status, and coordinating loan ‘hand-offs’ with Loan Closing staff.+ Perform property security, neighborhood and rent/sale comparable inspections, including photographing of the same.+ Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities –

Keeps up to date on regulation changes.+ Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.+ Maintain a working knowledge of Bank’s written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.+ May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.+ Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.+ Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.+ Embraces our vision to become “The World’s Greatest Bank.”+ May perform other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES NoneREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES+ Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Finance, Business, or other related field required.+ 1-3 years of related lending experience.+ Intermediate knowledge and understanding of income producing real estate and applicable real estate laws, notes, and deeds of trust.+ Proficient with analysis of financial and operating statements, leases, rent rolls, and tax returns.+ Proficient in math and techniques involved in analysis of various income property financial data.+ Intermediate knowledge of loan underwriting criteria for commercial real estate established by institutional lenders, including Umpqua Bank.+ Possess strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
Acute multi-tasking skills also required.+ Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and industry specific software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Streets & Maps preferred).PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS+ Office environment –
