We are currently seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for our Materials and Corrosion Engineering Practice in Los Angeles, CA.
In this role, you will work as part of a team to conduct metallurgical, materials, and mechanical failure analyses.
You will be responsible for:
- Conducting hands-on failure analyses
- Planning and executing laboratory tests
- Conducting field inspections
- Operating the SEM
- Performing metallurgical analysis and testing, including metallographic sample preparation and operating the metallograph
- Communicating effectively with other engineers and technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff
You will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Ph.D.
in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related discipline, and familiarity with Mechanical Engineering
- Specialized metallurgical engineering knowledge
- Specialized knowledge and experience in metallographic and fractographic interpretation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
