Job Description: Smith-Emery seeks experienced MEP inspectors to join our team in Los Angeles to work on various Public Works projects including airport construction and roadway construction projects.
Experience with multi-trade contractors on infrastructure related projects is required.
Inspections will be related to HVAC, electrical distribution, fire proofing systems, IT infrastructure, amongst other related disciplines.
Also, experience as a special inspector / deputy inspector is preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
– Provide MEP inspections related to Tenant Improvement Projects and new capital projects alike
– Work closely with city and/or public works officials to provide inspections promptly
– Responsible for providing daily inspection of construction work for all three disciplines to ensure the project is in compliance with plans and specifications
– Be proactive and alert project management professionals to issues that may come up in the field
– Provide solutions to mitigate those problems
– Observe field work to ensure workmanship and materials meet standards
– Must be able to document the work via the daily inspection report and various other reports.
Certifications Required / Education:
– ICC Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical
– ICC Special Inspection related certifications preferred
