Membership Assistant

Under the direction of the Membership Manager and Director of Development, the Membership Assistant is an integral member of the Development team, aiding in the cultivation and administration of the Department.

Typical duties include assisting the Membership Manager in communicating with the museum’s members, staffing museum events both on and off-site, and maintaining the museum’s donor database.
Essential Functions:
1.

Work with Membership Manager to plan, implement, and execute all operational procedures related to membership, including oversight of administrative tasks, print production for promotional materials, and policy maintenance
2.

Create and drive timelines and other project related deliverables to ensure success of membership drives, including annual lapsed member re-activation campaign
3.

Manage museum databases for all membership levels
4.

Review and manage monthly renewal re-activation process for all members 5.

Process all monthly receipts (Renewals + New Members)
6.

Assist the Development department with the execution of fundraising campaigns
7.

Actively sell memberships at all specified museum events
8.

Record data for membership sales sold at admissions desk
9.

Regular communication with both internal and external contacts
10.

Organize set-up at member events (Cruise-Ins and or other off-site events) 11.

Coordinate special projects that may include campaign acknowledgements for gifts, calendars, membership card programs, and external events
12.

Create and implement donation procedures and programs to insure timely and accurate handling of membership donations
13.

Batch membership gifts according to established timelines and protocols

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

1.

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred

2.

Minimum Experience and Skills Required:

Experience with POS systems and/or membership database preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (strong Excel skills required)

Valid driver’s license required
Weekend availability and flexibility to work evening events as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
