E Ink California, LLC.
is seeking an experienced Polymer and Material Scientist.
As part of an innovative research team, this candidate will source and formulate piezoelectric polymers, and work with process engineers to create piezoelectric thin films to power electrophoretic displays (EPD).
Responsibilities: Source, formulate and process piezoelectric polymers/copolymers into thin films Establish methods to characterize the chemical, physical, and electrical properties of the piezoelectric film Establish process-structure-property-performance correlations Identify the critical to function design parameters to maximize output power from the piezoelectric film Investigate and explore new ideas, demonstrate proof of concept, and create new intellectual properties Participate in cross-functional teams in new technology introduction.
Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and promote and contribute to a cohesive team working culture.
Qualifications: Ph.D.
in Polymer Science and Engineering or Material Science with Polymer background Experienced with polymer thin-film formulation, polymer morphology/crystallinity control and polymer alignment processes Experienced in chemical and morphology characterization of polymers Hands-on experience on fluoropolymer e.g.
PVDF and its copolymer is a plus In-depth knowledge of processing-structure-properties relationships In-depth knowledge in surface and interfacial properties High energy and self-motivated; the candidate must be goal-oriented, creative, and be able to handle multiple tasks Good communication skills with vendors and other group members Experience in trouble shooting; show a data driven approach to problem solving and an ability to work under pressure.
