Market Advisor II

Primary Purpose Under the guidance of the Program Manager, this position manages and supports various regulatory efforts related to the Self-Generation Incentive Program.

The position also gathers customer and industry-specific information as part of the technical and/or regulatory efforts involved in ongoing development of this customer program.

Acts as an industry expert in a myriad of consumer programs, technologies, and regulatory proceedings.

Acts as a liaison between external parties and the internal energy program staff groups.

Duties and Responsibilities * Organizes and drives policy on legislative and regulatory matters.* Supports and/or directly manages participation in proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission.* Assigned regulatory efforts may include program specific items, contracts, regulatory compliance, and monitoring other similar regulatory proceedings.* Oversees the development of the regulatory strategy and tactics, establishes the schedule to be followed, organizes and/or directs the preparation of all materials including applications, petitions, advice letters, comments, and replies.* Informs necessary personnel of progress and major issues or problems.* Ensures work remains on schedule and complies with the team’s agreed upon objective.

Builds coalitions and solicits support from other internal and external parties.* Ensures that the necessary steps are taken to implement all compliance obligations and deadlines.* Coordinates efforts with program staff and industry partners, trade groups, and consumer/business organizations.* Develops new relationships and builds on existing relationships to gain knowledge of industry objectives.* Represents the company in working groups charged with development of new programs policies and/or improvements.* Explains energy policies and legislation to customers, internal stakeholders, and industry partners.* Interfaces frequently with senior management to educate leadership on regulatory issues.* Speaker for and representative of the company at a myriad of business and consumer-related events.* Performs other duties as assigned.Education * Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications, and/or engineering.

RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities * Demonstrated Interpersonal skills
– including skills of persuasion.* Ability to quickly assimilate industry information and communicate this to internal organizations.* Strong Written and oral presentation skills.* Ability to forge new business relationships that have clear value for customers and SEU.* Ability to effectively discern and prioritize demands to manage time.Other Qualifications * This position focuses 90% of the time on external activities.

Frequent and heavy local travel required.

Some out of state travel may be required.NOTE: This position can be filled at a different level based on the final scope of job responsibilities and job requirements.
