JOB OVERVIEW

The Maître D is the head host who greets guests and ensures an impactful and memorable restaurant experience from start to finish. The Maître D reports to the Restaurant Manager and oversees the host team.

  • Greets guests as they arrive at the restaurant; gathers any pertinent information; delivers guests to the front of house team
  • Oversees the seating of and menu presentation to all guests, ensuring high-quality service
  • Supervises, leads, and mentors the host team, providing daily training and development
  • Takes reservations over the telephone, through emails, and in person; records all reservations properly in the system
  • Manages and maximizes the reservation book
  • Answers guests’ questions
  • Creates and communicates daily floor plans
  • Highlights problem areas with hosts or seating flow and develops solutions
  • Demonstrates a positive, smiling, empowering, and motivational attitude
  • Delegates effectively with a sense of professionalism
  • Oversees the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant entrance
  • Ensures all supplies required to keep the front end of the restaurant running are always available
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of restaurant experience
  • Knowledge of the sequence of service and dining room procedures
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Reservation system experience preferred
  • Salido experience preferred

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting
