Machinist – Grinder Operator

Our client located in Van Nuys CA is seeking an experienced machinist to work in their production area operating various Grinding machines.
This precision aerospace parts manufacturer offers great pay, long term work, overtime, and tremendous opportunity for growth.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Run manual or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines using work instructions, blueprints and customer data.
-Manufacture parts as required per company or customer data. 

-Verify that blueprint and applicable attachment provisions match the revisions called out on the Manufacturing Procedure. 

-Operate assigned machines and follow operation instructions on manufacturing Procedures or other planning.
-Set Up machines with appropriate tooling and /fixtures to hold the part.
-Use inspection equipment to verify conformance of assigned dimensions and finishes.
-Perform 1st article set-up inspection to verify part conformity.
-Inspect enough parts  set-process to verify that the machine set-up and tooling is still running properly to produce conforming parts. 
-Keep finished and unfinished parts in separate containers.
-Tag any discrepant parts immediately for review and disposition
-Verify the number of pieces completed at the end of the operation.
-Record the results of the operation by dating and initialing or signing on the Manufacturing Procedure.
