LVN Compliance Auditor

Job Description Position Purpose: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Quality Assurance, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is responsible for supporting the compliance functions of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement department of JWCH. The responsibilities include but not limited to maintaining a defined review schedule for JWCH, Wesley Health Centers by doing preparatory work for the audit including developing a scope of work, reviewing documentation, preparing reports and doing any necessary follow-up reviews. Additionally, this position will ensure that appropriate data is collected, securely kept, maintained and serve as a resource to clients in answering compliance questions from Internal Audit and Audit Advisory Services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Conduct Compliance Reviews. Complete compliance reviews within established parameters and initiate and carry out all assigned reviews according to defined departmental policies and processes. Provides direct nursing care and services to patients of all ages (with an emphasis on pediatrics) within the LVN scope of practice, including but not necessarily limited to: Taking vital signs, gathering pertinent information from the patient (chief complaint, past medical history, medication names and compliance, etc.), utilizing proper documentation methods. Preparing patient chart for the provider in advance of the visit (chart review/” scrubbing”) and assisting provider with paperwork as needed (disability forms, school physical exam forms, etc.). Administering medications, including immunizations. Providing patient education. Leads daily huddles with his/her assigned PCMH care team(s). Applies communication skills by coordinating patient services and requests, including addressing patient phone calls, telephone encounters, and patient portal queries as well as to follow up with patients after their appointments, provide appointment reminders, to follow-up on missed appointments, etc. Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures, as well as applicable state, federal, and other regulatory guidelines. Maintains all necessary licensure, certification(s), including BLS. Attends annual fire and safety classes. Attends and participates in all assigned meetings, reports, and/or committees. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of documentation requirements for respective funding sources. Demonstrated expertise in medical terminology. Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to interface with both clinical, administrative (i.e. data entry/support services) and management staff. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent attention to details, ability to be thorough and accurate. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software applications. Able to work both individually and as part of a team. Qualifications: Current California licensed or registered vocational nurse (LVN) with at least one (1) year experience in the health care setting. Must possess a valid California Driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record under the Agency’s liability policy. Experience with patient follow-up and compliances. Ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds. Experience utilizing an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is highly desirable. Bilingual (in Spanish) preferred. All JWCH, Wesley Health Centers workforce members must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
