LVN – Athletic Medicine – Part Time 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with recognized leadership abilities and sound clinical skills who will actively assist the physicians and superiors in the day-to-day clinical care of patients. This role will also include an arrangement of detailed patient care in the primary care and orthopedics service line. Assists in the implementation and evaluation of the delivery of patient care. Under guidance of clinical supervisor, registered nurse, athletic trainers or physician, provides individualized, direct patient care to promote restoration of health and achievement of patient health goals. Performs nursing functions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practices, and licensure limitations.Minimum Education:* High school Diploma or equivalent* Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program required.* Must have passed the NCLEX-PN licensing examinationMinimum Experience/Knowledge:* 1 Year experience in acute care setting. Demonstrated intrapersonal skills and knowledge of patient care and/or needs. Must have keen observational, decision-making, and communication skills. Ability to follow orders and work independently within scope of practice.Required License/Certification:* Valid California Vocational Nursing license.* BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.* IV Certification* Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)The hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 – $39.69.
