The Red Hat Presales team is looking for a passionate software developer focused on open source, cloud-native application architecture, or implementation to join us as a Specialist Solutions Architect in Southern California. In this role, you’ll need to have experience building container-based or cloud-focused architectures using DevOps principles. You’ll use your expertise to help Red Hat customers develop, secure, and modernize their software, processes, and toolchains using open source solutions from Red Hat. You’ll serve as a frontrunner in developing software on multiple clouds using modern application software runtimes, tools, and infrastructures including Kubernetes, Istio Service Mesh, Red Hat OpenShift, and Kafka with modern runtimes like Eclipse Vert.x, Go, Node.js, and Java. You will also help customers use Red Hat’s broader middleware solutions set, including agile integration technology, API management, and business process automation frameworks. As a Specialist Solutions Architect, you will work as part of an outstanding team responsible for direct customer interaction. You’ll need to have excellent communication and people skills, an adaptable mindset, and willingness to work with customers through all stages of application life cycle. You should also be willing to engage in public speaking and build great example implementations to help Red Hat’s customers understand how to implement and support modern applications.
- Discover business problems and develop technical solutions that use Red Hat’s application runtimes, cloud-native infrastructures, and agile technologies
- Create enterprise solutions that result in high-value business outcomes
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations that focus on solving real-world problems with next-generation technology
- Lead projects with customers using a structured methodology as part of the evaluation stage and using Red Hat’s cloud-native and middleware solutions portfolios
- Ensure long-term customer success using Red Hat’s cloud-native and middleware portfolios
- Collaborate with teams across Red Hat to build better customer solutions and achieve more valuable business outcomes; work directly with product engineering, professional services, and other sales teams to achieve outcomes
- Demonstrate your expertise by speaking publicly and building your brand with Red Hat
- 5+ years of experience building and developing software and applications
- Previous experience delivering software via containers or Kubernetes platforms
- Practical experience with key application runtimes like Java, Spring Boot, Vert.x, Node.js, Go, or JEE platforms
- Familiarity with JEE and Java frameworks
- Experience with DevOps and agile best practices
- Experience with build and development tools like Maven, Eclipse, Jenkins, and Git
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Experience with API management, business process automation, or service integration
