Position Description

The Loan Analyst assists existing clients with multifamily loan needs and works to expand client base; provides FHA loan processing and underwriting information to assist borrowers with obtaining FHA and other financing; provides front end underwriting and application processing necessary to move the loan to underwriting; provides excellent customer service and technical assistance; works with and provides support to other team members.

Responsibilities:
Provides customer service to existing book of business through routine contact with developers and works to expand customer pool.

Provides preliminary underwriting/loan sizing; prepares client engagement letter; and develops initial concept meeting package for HUD, if necessary Works with underwriting to complete the loan application package, as required.

Participates in checklist and status calls/conferences.

Works with underwriting to coordinate loan closings with HUD, outside counsel, the borrower and other participants Stays current with FHA, HUD, LIHTC, Bond program, HOME, and other program rules and regulations.

Attends industry trainings as needed.

Provides technical support and assistance to the broader corporate mission as needed.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Finance or related field required.

2-5 years experience with multifamily affordable and/or market rate project development or finance.

Experience with affordable housing development resources; such as LIHTCs, Bonds, CDBG, HOME, OZ etc.

Experience with multifamily underwriting and risk analysis preferred.

Strong time management skills is a must.

Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
