Litigation Paralegal

Compensation & Benefits: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 base salary, discretionary bonuses, annual raises; plus benefits!

Join a small boutique firm as an Employment Litigation Paralegal (Legal Assistant) in Downtown Los Angeles, CA (must be in the office 4 days a week / 1 from home) with a team currently consisting of 3 attorneys & 3 legal support staff.

About the role:

  • Support a team of 3 employment attorneys, soon to be 4 with a caseload of 70+ pre-litigation and litigation cases.

  • Handling the filing and service of legal documents
  • Engaging in effective client communication
  • Ensuring the maintenance and organization of case files
  • Managing calendars meticulously for depositions, hearing dates, and all associated deadlines (e.g., pleadings, motions, discovery)
  • Thoroughly reviewing and proofreading legal documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Utilizing case management software to maintain well-organized and updated case records
  • And other commonly related paralegal / legal assistant tasks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred
  • 3 or more years of legal experience in a Paralegal or Legal Assistant role, focusing on civil/plaintiff litigation, ideally employment / labor related
  • Strong organizational skills, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in data entry and document management systems
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Ability to proofread legal documents effectively
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Capacity to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
