Litigation Legal Assistant
Location: Encino, Los Angeles, CA
Pay Range: $25 to $36 per hour

LHH is working with a reputable law firm in seeking a skilled Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team in Encino, CA. You will be responsible for assisting multiple attorneys with drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence; e-filing in state and federal court; and calendar management. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of litigation experience.
Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Execute diverse administrative tasks, encompassing data entry, filing, and document management. Sustain well-organized and current physical and electronic filing systems.
- Legal Document Preparation: Craft legal documents, contracts, and pleadings for attorney assessment. Scrutinize and revise legal documents to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
- Calendar Management: Oversee attorneys’ calendars and optimize appointment scheduling. Coordinate and arrange court appearances, depositions, and meetings.
- Communication Handling: Professionally handle incoming phone calls, take messages, and convey information with appropriate phone etiquette. Transcribe dictations and correspondence as required.
Requirements:
- Experience: Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation.
- Legal Knowledge: Exhibit a comprehension of legal terminology, e-filing procedures, court rules, and the legal system. Familiarity with WordPerfect and utilizing legal technology, court-filing computer systems, transcription software, and court forms programs.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in litigation management software systems. Demonstrate the ability to adapt to legal technologies.
- Organizational Skills: Possess formidable organizational skills with the capability to prioritize tasks effectively. Exhibit meticulous attention to detail along with exceptional proofreading abilities.
- Communication Skills: Showcase outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate effective communication with attorneys, clients, and fellow staff members.
