WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT?
This new team of Literacy Engagement Specialists, viewed as K-12 Literacy subject matter experts, will report to one of three Regional Sales Managers and work strategically with the aligned sales team members to develop, implement and execute on sales plans and training programs specific to VHLs Literacy ELL, Dual Language and ELA products.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Partner with regional field sales team members and sales managers on the creation and execution of strategic business development plans that will secure key account business for VHL’s Literacy products
- Partner closely with Literacy Program Director on implementation of go-to-market strategies
- Coordinate internal and external resources needed to ensure leveraging of product capabilities and sales opportunities
- Research, collect information on and identify key questions for each sales team member to utilize in presentations for Top 10 Tier 1 K-12 district target accounts
- Conduct regular reviews and follow-up meetings with sales team members on their specific sales plans and progress towards achieving shared goals
- Develop a deep understanding of VHL’s product portfolio and ensure key features are included in presentations and collateral
- Stay abreast of ELA/ELL trends, analyze the regional competitive landscape and develop resources to show how VHL’s product(s) can fill market gaps
- Provide training to sales reps on how best to respond to customer questions and act as a primary resource for customer implementation trainings
- Assist with site based outreach, district and state level RFP submission responses
- Provide insight to Marketing and Product Development teams on customer perspectives
YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience as an Educator/Teacher, Program Facilitator, District Coordinator, Trainer or similar focused in Literacy
- Knowledge of K-12 bilingual and pedagogy of ELL and DL programs
- Knowledge of K-12 literacy market dynamics, competitive landscape, trends, customer needs and challenges
- Experience with state and/or district adoption, RFP and public solicitation processes
- Experience building and presenting effective and engaging live and virtual webinars and trainings
- Experience providing sales support or handling sales related activities in the educational technology or publishing industry
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience developing and maintaining long-term relationships and a highly collaborative mindset
- A willingness and ability to travel (overnight, by air or car) as needed within assigned region (approx. 40-50%)
- A high technology proficiency with MS Office Suite, CRMs, LMS tools and webinar systems
- Excellent organizational skills, along with an ability to prioritize projects as needed and meet deadlines
IDEAL IF YOU (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)
- Have familiarity with VHL Literacy products
- Reside within the Western United States region – California, Utah
- Are fluent in both English and Spanish

Remote: This role is requires travel throughout the assigned territory or region without restriction. Candidates must meet this requirement in order to be considered.
