Life Science Legal Counsel

The Life Science Legal Counsel is a new role created to meet the complex and varied legal needs of Analysis Group’s life science practice.

The Life Science Legal Counsel will provide thoughtful legal advice and support to Analysis Group’s life science consultants.

This position will handle a diverse range of legal matters and will involve working closely with both internal consultants and external clients.

You will work independently with the goal of providing timely and practical legal guidance to support our life science work.

This position will require independent judgment and critical thinking to make nuanced risk decisions and provides the opportunity to become a trusted partner to the life science practice leadership.

The variety and scope of legal issues you will be asked to work through will make each day different and you will be challenged to find creative and innovative legal solutions to further the important and impactful work for our clients.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:Life Science Agreements
– Work independently in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of life science agreements with clients and vendors, including consulting agreements, collaboration agreements, agreements with academic institutions, data license agreements, confidentiality agreements, Master Services Agreements, and statements of work.

This includes working collaboratively with consulting and administrative teams (Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology and Security) regarding contractual obligations.In-House Advice – Provide strategic guidance regarding study framework and contracting process.

Provide practical legal advice to consulting staff on life science related topics.

This work may involve legal research regarding the evolving issues facing the life science industry and collaborating with legal team colleagues on long-term projects pertaining to issues that are a priority for the firm.Risk Management – Assist in risk management on a firm-wide basis.

Work on improvement of certain business processes with an eye for increasing efficiency and reducing risk to the firm.Manage Outside Counsel
– Engage and manage outside counsel as needed to provide timely and practical advice on issues related to the life science practice.Compliance
– Collaborate with the firm’s internal Compliance group regarding contract and other regulatory requirements imposed by clients.Qualifications: JD required.Minimum of five years of legal experience required.An ideal candidate will have five to eight years of substantive relevant experience.

A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.

Experience in the life science, pharmaceutical, and/or biotech industry is preferred.Experience with legal and regulatory issues associated with life science, health care, pharmaceutical research, and data privacy is preferred.Prior experience independently drafting, reviewing, and negotiating life science agreements, particularly master services agreements, subcontractor agreements, and agreements with health care institutions, is preferred.

Prior experience with ethic committee/IRB review, pharmacovigilance requirements, Contract Research Organizations, and/or Real World Evidence (RWE) studies is a plus.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Excellent judgment and ability to tailor advice to circumstances at hand.Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Willingness to learn.Enjoys contributing to a collaborative team environment.An inclusive and growth-oriented mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to work across differences.Eligible candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship or restriction, now or in the future.Analysis Group embraces diversity and equal opportunity in a deep and meaningful way.
