Liaison Engineer
SUMMARY:
The Liaison Engineer will have the opportunity to evaluate and resolve engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality and material engineering. Analyzes engineering specifications and drawings; confers with quality, material, manufacturing and subcontractors to provide and obtain technical information; investigates reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems; and reviews production schedules and orders. Examines, measures, inspects or tests defective parts for conformance. Evaluates findings to formulate corrective actions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates activities to evaluate and resolve engineering-related production problems and Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to maintain current manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities in assigned area.
Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction of errors (redline) on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations.
Investigates reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine nature and scope of problem as well as to formulate corrective actions and coordinates implementation of RCCA.
Examines, measures, inspects, or tests defective part for conformance to engineering design drawings, using precision measuring and testing instruments, devices, and equipment
Serves as member of material review board to determine disposition of defective or damaged parts – MRB.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to analyze engineering specifications and drawings and confer with quality material, manufacturing and suppliers to provide and obtain technical information.
Ability to investigate reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems; and reviews production schedules and orders. Includes examining, measuring, inspecting or testing defective parts for conformance.
Ability to interface with project engineering, manufacturing engineering and functional leads.
Experience with CAD software.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering field.
2+ years related engineering experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, walk and reach with hands and arms as well as some bending and/or stooping. Occasional light lifting of reams of paper or books up to 20 lbs. or equivalent may be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work is performed in a typical office environment with no major sources of discomfort. Essentially a normal controlled working environment with noise levels within acceptable safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.
