This LEGAL SECRETARY POSITION will support attorneys in the litigation group with a focus on Employment Law Litigation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:nn Preparing, revising and formatting legal documents, spreadsheets and presentations Scheduling appointments, travel and maintaining calendars and court deadlines; Extensive knowledge and experience in paper court filings and efiling in State, District and Appellate courts as well as update all electronic pleadings/correspondence; Administrative tasks including preparing expenses, editing prebills, running conflict of interest checks and opening new engagements; Delegate and oversee work sent to appropriate office departments in a timely and efficient manner; Assist other secretaries and attorneys in practice group as time permits and as requested by other attorneys or the Director of Administration.

nn QUALIFICATIONS: nn High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Ability to use good judgment in handling administrative tasks with minimal supervisions; Excellent interpersonal and customer skills; Strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem solving skills; Ability to prioritize work with changing demands from multiple timekeepers; Flexible, team oriented attitude; Strong attention to detail while remaining calm in deadline driven situations is required.

nn EXPERIENCE: nn High School diploma or equivalent required; At least 3-5 years of litigation support experience; Strong E-filing experience.

The senior legal secretary will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including, but not limited to, document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, fact checking; discovery responses; deposition prep and notices; reservation of travel; expense reporting; preparation and filing of legal documents; and trial preparation.

Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.

Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.

Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.

Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.

Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.

Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.

Organizes, enters and cross-references documents in a computerized database.

Prepares discovery requests and responses.

Assists general counsel organizing and carrying out special projects as assigned.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
