Legal Assistant

Are you a litigation paralegal with insurance defense experience interested in a full-time, in office, permanent job opportunity with a well-respected  firm in Los Angeles, CA? Ideal candidates will have solid experience with medical terminology, as you will be expected to create concise medical summaries from complex medical records. You will be responsible for drafting, formatting, and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, discovery requests, etc.; maintaining department records, both physically and electronically; calendaring; case management; all aspects of discovery; coordinating court dates and appearances; trial prep; deposition prep; scheduling meetings with witnesses and other involved parties; legal research; document production; and other tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized multi-tasker with excellent written and verbal communication skills. If you are a skilled and efficient insurance defense paralegal who exhibits high attention to detail and who remains calm under pressure, this is the role for you!

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience, including solid understanding of medical terminology
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills with a helpful, no-job-too-small mindset
