Compensation: $17.00 to $20.00 hourly
Mid-size worker’s compensation law firm located in Canoga Park is seeking a contract legal assistant to assist with a long-term coverage onsite.
Top duties include but are not limited to answering phones, assisting with clerical projects such as scanning and filing, and additional administrative support. MerusCase and/or workers compensation experience a plus but not required.
This opportunity will allow for substantive case work and is perfect for those who are seeking to jump start their career in the legal industry.
This role requires 40 hours of availability Monday – Friday during traditional business hours with NO opportunity to be remote. Parking is provided and this is a great way to build your legal resume.
If you have great attention to detail, are customer service oriented, operate with a high sense of urgency, and have a bachelor’s degree related to law or a genuine interest in the profession, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Job Requirements:
– Less than one year of experience
– Excellent oral and written communications skills
– Strong attention to detail
– Eagerness to learn about new ideas and concepts
– Demeanor to thrive in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines
– Proven knowledge of Internet research, calendaring, word processing and spreadsheets
– Incoming phone call management skills desired
– Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
– Experience with Microsoft Office
– Provide Clerical Support experience preferred
– Comprehensive knowledge of Answering Multi-Line Phone System
– Workers compensation law experience preferred
– Strong familiarity with Administrative Assistance
– Well-founded grasp of Receptionist Duties
– Proven knowledge of Superior Customer Service
