Please note that a law degree is highly preferred for this position.
The position will offer a very unique insight into the legal and business aspects of television development and production and is suited for individuals who are interested in learning this side of the entertainment business.
Responsibilities to include:
Screen, roll, and respond to incoming calls and correspondence Perform administrative duties such as filing, document management, obtaining signatures, and copying and distributing legal documents Manages the Head of Business Affairs and VP of Business and Legal Affairs calendar and schedule/coordinate meetings and appointments Arrange meetings or conferences by issuing meeting requests or invitations, and coordinating handouts Compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports, and other documents such as expense reports and contracts Opportunity to assist the Business and Legal Affairs Department on various business and legal matters during all phases of production, including: drafting trade-out and vendor agreements, reviewing episodes and preparing episode clearance notes, drafting location agreements, materials releases, amendments, correspondence and shopping agreements, completing insurance applications, tracking option expiration dates, evaluating rights/chain of title issues, researching legal issues and preparing corresponding memorandum and reviewing background and trademark reports.
Desired Qualifications.
The successful candidate will:
be proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and all basic office skills (i.e.
typing, telephone skills, document management, screening calls, scheduling appointments/meetings, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and professional phone and email etiquette) have the ability to multi-task and work within deadline and time constraints be highly self-motivated have an effective problem-solving approach be able to work and think independently be naturally resourceful have excellent drafting and analytical skills and attention to detail be well-organized and have a strong work ethic.
Until the offices re-open the position will be remote but will eventually be on-site at our Hollywood offices.
