Lead UX Writer

This position is only open to candidates residing in Eastern Standard Time Zone only, ideally MA.

You must be able to come to Boston for occasional workshops.

The User Experience team at a large pharma company is looking for an experienced UX writer.

The Lead UX Writer will work collaboratively with a team of designers, researchers, strategists, product managers, internal stakeholders, and Agile development teams to deliver compelling, on-brand content solutions that delights users and meets business objectives.

Your focus will be on our internal and external digital solutions, including labels, navigational elements, interface language, accessibility content, tutorials, detailed UX guidelines around design standards, component behaviors, and editorial advice.

Plan and write clear, concise, and on-brand copy with the aim of improving the user interface Create intuitive copy that helps users navigate with ease through digital products, including menus, definitions, buttons, labels, chatbots, and error messages Become an expert on our digital products, distilling complex ideas down into language that’s approachable by users Ask the right questions of product owners to clarify processes and communicate them back to users in language they understand Collaborate with designers, product owners, and senior leaders to produce meaningful content Provide product copy and functionality notes for wireframes with UX designers Review completed copy and contextual information in mock-ups with UI designers Proofread and edit content for accuracy, grammar, and style Drive consensus across teams and advocate for solutions that balance the needs our designers and other business stakeholders with our business goals Be the first point of contact for any inconsistencies or improvement ideas for copy Experience 10 years of UX writing and content strategy experience with digital solutions and brands Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience working on digital products, specifically websites, mobile apps, and cloud-based solutions Experience writing content for multiple channels, including landing pages, emails, and short articles.

Experience with the pharma, life sciences, medical devices, or healthcare industry and content writing is a plus; or another industry that is complex, multi-channel, and regulated Experience with modern design processes: design thinking, digital product development, Agile, Lean UX is a must Familiarity with design and rapid prototyping tools: Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Cloud apps Experience with maintaining an online documentation repository using either a content management system (CMS) or a static web site is a must Adept at using language that is compelling, concise, and friendly to simplify complex interactions and guide a user through a device agnostic digital experience Proven ability to collaborate with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create effective user experiences Comfort with presenting your work to all levels from working team to management and explaining your thinking Able to defend your content decisions with executives and legal, and can negotiate edits with diplomacy and an open mind Can build credibility and trust with peers and executives, and enjoys working in a complex organization with multiple decision-makers Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; or equivalent work experience Portfolio of writing samples requiredPDN-97263821-14fb-49f0-a24b-e42dee656e1eSDL2017
