Lead Scrum Master

Our Entertainment Client has a tremendous remote 12-month contract opportunity. This opportunity is working remote.

The Scrum Master is a servant-leader for the Scrum Team. The Scrum Master helps those outside the Scrum Team understand which of their interactions with the Scrum Team are helpful and which aren’t. The Scrum Master helps everyone change these interactions to maximize the value created by the Scrum Team. The Scrum Master is responsible is to effectively and efficiently manage the development sprints from planning to execution to review in an agile development environment. The responsibilities of the role will include running daily scrums, collaborating with the product owner, collaborating on requirement documentation, managing tickets and unblocking barriers to keep the team moving. You will be responsible to communicate and collaborate primarily with the engineering & development teams, product owners, project manager and senior leadership teams. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, demonstrate strong leadership abilities and have impeccable communication skills. Manages work stress effectively and is professional.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.
  • Manage the engineering development releases and facilitates sprint releases.
  • Analysis’s business requirements documents and project timelines
  • Guides team in time estimating practices and facilitates team estimates.
  • Holds team accountable for Agile tool usage.
  • Interacts with other Scrum Masters to ensure inter-team dependencies are addressed.
  • Drive team iteration execution, communicates with leadership and stakeholders, protects the team from uncontrolled injection of work (changes are evaluated/intentional)
  • Maintain and publishes team data and metrics in Agile development tool e.g. JIRA to support estimates and execution (release burn up, velocity metrics, sprint burn down etc.)
  • Manage project conflicts, challenges and dynamic business requirements to keep operations.
  • Work with the team leads to resolve people problems and project roadblocks.
  • Able to do postmortem and root cause analysis to help teams continuously improve their practices to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Leads team effort in relentless improvement, define and implement improvement stories to increase the velocity and quality of the program • Implement and support principles, rules and processes.
  • Proactively identify and eliminate impediments and facilitate flow.
  • Presents high level project readouts for senior management.
  • Supports product owner(s) with intra-team dynamics with respect to priorities and scope.
  • Facilitates effective mediation of team conflicts.

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience performing the Scrum Master role for over four years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing etc.
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team.
  • Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
  • Previous experience as a team lead
  • Experience working with Salesforce and or Commerce API Technology Teams.
  • Strong Program Management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CSM Certification required

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
