The Lead Custodian will manage and lead the custodial staff as well as ensure that the school facility is maintained and cleaned to uphold a safe, secure, and comfortable environment conducive to student learning.What You Will Do:Facilitating and leading custodial staff meetingsSupervising other custodial team membersCommunication with team members using emailSupports custodiansAssists with on-boarding/training new custodiansAssumes responsibility for campus operations with the principal in the absence of the Operations ManagerCommunicates and works with the supervising principal in the absence of the Operations ManagerServe as the assistant to the Campus Operations Manager as neededCleans classrooms, rest rooms, hallways, multipurpose room, offices and all interior and exterior areas of school.Sets up and cleans dining area before, between, during and after breakfast and/or lunch periods.Responds to emergency cleanups during the day, such as clogged drains and spills.Performs minor routine maintenance, including replacing lights, changing filters, etc.Performs minor routine grounds-keeping duties, including picking up litter, weeding, mowing the lawn.Reports required repair work to proper authorities.Sets up and arranges furniture for assemblies, meetings and special events.Ongoing awareness and readiness to respond to safety/security needs of students, staff and facilities.Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.Serving as meeting facilitator for custodial meetingsSupervising Night Custodial CrewLiaison to the M&O PrincipalWorking collaboratively with the plant manager and serving as the lead in his/her absenceWhat You Will Bring:Knowledge of safe and efficient use of cleaning materials, chemicals, tools and equipment LEADERSHIP KNOWLEDGEKnowledge of having lead a team.Ability to complete minor maintenance, e.g., replace light bulb, filtersAbility and willingness to safely meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the required duties, including ability to lift, carry, push, pull and move heavy objects on a regular basis Ability to maintain simple records Ability to work independentlyAbility to interact appropriately with children of different ages in school setting respecting and understanding boundaries.High School Diploma or GED or qualified experience1-3 years of custodial experience preferredCompensation: $21.18- $30.85 per hour, based on years of experienceAspire offers its full time employees a competitive salary and benefits, including paid time off, 100% core health benefits coverage on select plans, life insurance/long-term disability, participation in a CA state retirement plan, tuition reimbursement plan, and adoption assistance program.Aspire Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other occupationally irrelevant criteria.
