We are seeking construction laborers to join our team.This is an entry level laborer position that opens up training opportunities for equipment operator and blaster in charge positions within the company.This position provides an excellent opportunity for growth and a long-term career with ARI.

COMPENSATION Starting Wage: $18.00/hr; Potential Wage: $20/hr depending on experience.

Unlimited overtime when work is available.

Typical annual earnings $55,000-$70,000/yr.

Per diem : $40.00 per day when staying at a company paid hotel.

Full benefit package.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum age 18.

3 years of manual labor experience (industry specific not required).

Valid drivers license with a driving record that includes no more than 3 moving violations and/or chargeable accidents in the last 3 years and no DUIIs.

Travel away from home is a required part of this position.

We provide transportation from our headquarters in Springfield.

This position typically works away from home Monday through Friday.

Must be flexible with shift start and end times, and a schedule that changes frequently depending on customer demands.

We submit candidates to a background check through the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to screen felony records as appropriate in compliance with federal government restrictions.

We will administer a pre-employment drug test and physical.

For safety reasons, we have a zero-tolerance drug policy, including marijuana use.

Physical ability to lift 50 pound and work on feet for long hours.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES BLASTING OPERATIONS Assists Blaster(s) in Charge in all day-of-blast activities, ensuring that work is executed in accordance with the Blast Plan.

Assists in placing and detonating controlled explosives used to loosen earth and rock.

Carries explosive bags, cartridges, powder, stemming material and other supplies to blasting area and deposits in previously drilled holes as directed.

Places, with shovel or by hand, earth, aggregate or drill cuttings (stemming) into holes after placement of charge and tamps earth to confine detonation.

Connects explosive cords to blasting caps and lead wire to firing device.

Develops a solid understanding of proper explosives product use and various applications.

Assists in seismograph (vibration monitoring instrument) deployment and monitoring and works towards proficiency with use General job site clean-up.

DRILLING OPERATIONS Assists in the operation of hydraulic rock drills on road construction, solar farm and rock quarry sites.

Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and drilling equipment.

Completes necessary equipment preand post operation inspections, drill logs and workplace exam paperwork per company policy.

SAFETY Views safety as paramount and continually works with team members to maintain a safe operation.

Properly follows all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) : Employees are given the option to contribute a portion of their earnings, pre-tax, into a Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

They can use the funds contributed to their account to pay for qualified medical or dependent care expenses that are not covered by insurance.

Voluntary Insurance : We offer a voluntary insurance program for Critical Illness, Accident Protection, Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance.

401k : We match 100% of the first 3% of your salary that you contribute, and 50% of the amount that exceeds 3%, up to 5% of your annual earnings.

In addition, ARI may make a profit-sharing contribution to your account at the end of the plan year.

Prevailing Wage Fringe to 401k : On prevailing wage jobs, 100% of fringe (after health insurance) is paid as pre-tax wages into the employee’s 401k.

“Fringe” is the difference between the employee’s regular wage and the total State/Federal BaseFringe amount.

Paid Time Off : We offer 40 hours of annual paid time off (PTO) that is available for use after 90 days of employment.

For every full year of service at ARI, employees’ PTO accrual increases by 8 hours.

Paid Holidays Company Paid Hotel : When working on jobs requiring more than 1.5 hours one-way travel time, we arrange and pay 100 percent of hotel rooms.

Paid Travel Time : except portal-to-portal, travel time is paid.
