About the Role:

The Lab Scientist in Manufacturing Sciences (MS) Lab role is to plan and lead the development of the small-scale experiments aimed to improve process and product performance. Within the field of expertise, you might promote communication between MS Lab and other departments (Manufacturing, Quality, Validation).

You will evaluate new technologies and process changes aimed to improve manufacturing capacity and yields; conduct proof of concept (feasibility), engineering and qualification studies. Participate in development, qualification, and maintenance of the scale-down models. You will report to the head of Manufacturing Sciences Labs.

How you will contribute:

  • Implement studies and experiments aimed to improve existing and develop new manufacturing processes. Participate in troubleshooting teams and propose practical available solutions in the lab to design experiments.

  • Participate in development, qualification, maintenance, and improvement of the scale-down models.

  • Organize and monitor execution of tests for manufacturing and scale –down support.

  • Have manufacturing and laboratory GMP knowledge

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Typically requires bachelors’ degree in science, engineering or other related technical field. 2+ years of related experience.

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35 lbs.

  • In general, your work will be a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.

  • Can work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body.

  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.

  • May work in a loud area that requires hearing protection and other protective equipment to be worn.

  • Will work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers, and diatomaceous earth that may require respiratory protection.

  • May be asked to work in warm or cold, wet environments.

  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends.
