IT Help Desk Tech

This is a Contract position in Los Angeles, CA posted March 27, 2020.

Responsible for Single point of contact for end users to receive support, training, response to queries and maintenance within the organization s desktop and telecommunications environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, training and troubleshooting all hardware and equipment, including but not limited to PC, Mac, phones and printers. The goal is to ensure an optimal working environment in a timely and accurate fashion, for both local and remote users. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications Create and maintain procedural documentation, training material and relevant reports to mitigate system Provide training to end users on hardware, phones, systems and applications Assist staff with system setup or performance issues, by walking staff through problem-solving tasks Responsible for single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization s by responding, tracking, documenting and expanding on trouble tickets Set up users accounts and profiles, including dealing with password issues and service provisioning Provide support for AV presentations, video conferencing and telecommunications as needed Manage software, hardware and peripheral provisioning, including asset checkouts for loaner and trial equipment Conduct routine audits of hardware, software, network and infrastructure Interface with third party IT vendors to coordinate support and repair related activities, including inventory or hardware supplies Ensure IT Department SLAs are met Support and maintain user account information including rights, security and system groups. Assume responsibility for helpdesk tickets, prioritizing based on impact, and service level agreements Assist with ongoing staffing changes (new hires onboarding, moves, terminations, etc.) Assume responsibility for upholding IT procedures, including IT audits Provide support for critical issues and VIP support outside normal business hours, including occasional local travel, less than 10 Stay current with changes in environment, technology, system information and updates Identify and absorb new tools quickly based on changing business needs, and Secure environment maintain reports and requests between the requestor and the task, and enforce Secured Area access by following policies. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION andor EXPERIENCE Minimum 4 year s prior experience as a Help Desk Technician required Minimum Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be tech savvy with working knowledge of all office automation products. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and technical data. Ability to write comprehensive correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Strong verbal and written communication skills. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations. Customer-oriented mindset whereby employees are provided excellent service with their technical needs. Familiarity with complete Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Domain technology, Microsoft Exchange, VOIP, Apple Mac OS and iOS, and Citrix. Demonstrable understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products.
