Job Description Summary
We are looking for a Vice President of Investor Relations (VP of IR) to lead our Corporate Investor and Financial Communications activities.

This role is a critical leadership role that will see you own and manage Corporate Investor Relations activities.

Responsible for ensuring the company is appropriately and strategically positioned with analysts, investors, and all stakeholders.

This person is also responsible for creating the appropriate strategy, framework, and tactics, as well as for providing a very compelling investor relations roadmap.

It also requires the ability to carefully manage relationships outside the company in the equity research and investor community.

This person will have the opportunity to grow in responsibility leading teams, advising on strategy and pursuing opportunities to position the company for success.

The VP of IR reports to the CFO and has significant interaction with the CEO and other teams.

They must demonstrate a clear ability to communicate and work effectively in the Shift team-oriented environment.

We are open to a range of experience and this role can be manager level to VP, dependent on candidate backgrounds.

Job Duties

  • investor confidence and belief in the company’s vision and strategy for delivering shareholder value
  • Develop a robust investor relations strategy and framework including messaging and valuation models
  • Create and manage a strong reputation by demonstrating consistent and clear communication between internal and external parties
  • Manage equity research and investor relationships
  • Plan and manage the annual investor relations event calendar, including investor conferences and road shows, the annual shareholder meeting, and quarterly earnings announcements
  • Provide insights on market activity and present them to the leadership team
  • Analyze and present financial trends, competitor behavior, shareholder issues, and anything else that could impact the business
  • Advise executive management about financial and industry trends, shareholder concerns, and competitor actions that may impact the Company
  • Anticipate and address investor and analyst issues.

    Build relationships, respond in a timely manner to analysts’ questions, and gain better understanding of top investors’ behaviors

  • Work with legal counsel to ensure compliance on regulatory matters

Qualifications

  • We are interested in candidates with extensive experience either working for a sell-side equity research firm or have experience as a public market investor
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Investor Relations, Investment Banking, Sell-side Equity Research
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, management, or finance
  • MBA or an advanced degree in business, management, or finance is a plus
