Inventory Control Specialist

Overview: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of both Cat and Allied parts.

Champions a safe and healthy work environment.Ability to review and order both CAT as well as allied stock as needed.Issue and receipt POs for outside purchases for Allied parts and Promotional Items.Sets up Cat and non-CAT parts in DBS (as required).Reviews and submit internal stock transfers.Track parts shipments for customersWorks with Service and sales team to provide information and guidance for Parts VizReview and work reports to aid in inventory control to include the No loc, temp., exhaust, obsolete, and backorder parts report.Work with all parts departments to request rapid returns from Cat when needed.Work with Allied parts team to assist in Upload of parts price tapes.Produce stock request templates to be uploaded by PIC teamSets up daily cycle counts when needed.Supports other department/inventory control projects.Responds to all forms of electronic communications in a timely manner.Assist with Cat Rebates as neededAssist with CVA and other parts projects as needed.Perform general housekeeping duties.Promote safety through own work habits.Promotes teamwork, collaboration and accountability.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school degree required.

Associates or BS degree in business related field preferred.Preferred 3-5 years of experience in Caterpillar Dealer or similar position.Proven experience or understanding in the areas of inventory control, parts distribution, service, financial management, human relations, training, and customer satisfaction.Knowledge of DBS, Excel, SAP, and other system related tools.Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.Strong work ethic and self-starter.

Able to effectively manage multiple tasks/priorities and adapt to change.Personal commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.Superior planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple and often competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.Proven ability to navigate change in a productive manner, remaining open and driven by change in order to meet organizational goals and objectives.
