An International Tax Senior Associate is responsible for utilizing basic research skills and applying educational background to identify potential tax issues. In this role, the International Tax Senior Associate will be charged with gathering required client information necessary to prepare tax accrual workpapers, to utilize tax software applications to complete simple tax returns and participating in tax planning. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, required Accounting or another business related major, preferred Juris Doctorate degree, LLM, and/or MST/MBT, preferred Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience in corporate tax, international taxation, legal professional services, or equivalent experience gained through an advanced degree program, required Experience in international tax, preferred Prior experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis, preferred License/Certifications: CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), preferred Software: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, preferred Experience utilizing RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis and/or Westlaw, preferred Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and basic legal and tax research skills including building models and analysis of financial and numerical data Strong organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment Capable of working in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously Capable of effectively managing a team of tax professionals and delegating work assignments as needed Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with client personnel Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels Ability to prepare provisions and review Basic knowledge of sources of relevant information utilized in tax filings as well as the most widely used filing forms and awareness of other less widely used forms Basic understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation and law Basic knowledge and understanding of general calculations and cause / effect for taxable conditions on clients and the potential tax issues Strong legal writing background and familiarity with the IRAC method of analysis
