BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven ” individual to join as a Sr.
Integrated Circuit Development Engineer at our Indiana Technical Center (ITC) in Kokomo, Indiana.
In this role, and under direct supervision of the IC Architecture and Forward Engineering manager, the Sr.
IC Development Engineer will be responsible for development of next generation automotive ASICs for Power Electronics and Gas/Diesel electronic control modules in BorgWarner.
Job Duties Member of a Forward Engineering Development Team as an IC Development engineer.
Duties will include Investigation of and rationalization of customer needs and circuit solutions Support business case development Support Functional Safety (ISO26262) process deliverables Electrical and thermal analysis of proposed ASIC and supporting circuit design Development of or contribution to the development of the overall ASIC architecture Produce ASIC technical specifications and drawings Support of digital and analog IC Design team members during the course of ASIC development Laboratory evaluation of samples Provide application support to the using Program Team members Interface with IC suppliers for test certification and new technology initiatives Manage IC change requests and support cost reduction initiatives Manage IC problems and/or supplier issues Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Master’s degree in engineering preferred 8 years of experience in electronics industry, IC Development experience preferred Familiar with common lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, curve tracers, DVMs, etc.
Skilled in use of common computer applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Basic understanding of digital design fundamentals CMOS fundamentals and combinational logic, sequential logic, multiplexer, flip‐flop, counters, shift register, state machines etc.
Basic understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuits (op-amps, A/D’s, D/A’s, voltage references, etc.
Basic understanding of CMOS device structure and behavior.
Basic understanding of SPICE.
Candidates must have strong technical documentation and verbal communication skills Candidates must possess excellent organizational skills, good English oral and written communications skills, and a high level of interpersonal skills.
Must be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work in a customer oriented, fast-paced, and demanding environment with minimal supervision.
Leadership qualities Integrity, attention to detail, timeline sensitive, goal oriented, and motivated.
