INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER The role of the Industrial engineers is to find ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes.

They devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or provide a service.

The Industrial Engineer will create, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing systems, reducing costs while maintaining standards of operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Includes, but may not be limited to the following Industrial engineer designs, develops, tests, and evaluates integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.

Industrial engineer applies statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.

Industrial engineer coordinates quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.

Industrial engineer confers with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.

Industrial engineer drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.

Industrial engineer reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.

Industrial engineer communicates with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.

Industrial engineer estimates production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control.

Industrial engineer formulates sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

Industrial engineer records or oversees recording of information to ensure currency of engineering drawings and documentation of production problems.

Studies operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.

Industrial engineer directs workers engaged in product measurement, inspection, and testing activities to ensure quality control and reliability.

Industrial engineer implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and defective or damaged parts, and assess cost and responsibility.

Industrial engineer evaluates precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate corrective action plan.

Industrial engineer analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product.

Industrial engineer develops manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.

Industrial engineer recommends methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.

Industrial engineer plans and establishes sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.

Industrial engineer completes production reports, purchase orders, and material, tool, and equipment.

Industrial engineer schedules deliveries based on production forecasts, material substitutions, storage and handling facilities, and maintenance requirements.

Industrial engineer regulates and alters workflow schedules according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times to expedite production operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT B.S.
