In-House IP Counsel

This is a Full-time position in Los Angeles, CA posted February 21, 2021.

Adams & Martin Group is working with toy manufacturer in that is seeking an Intellectual Property Counsel for their Headquarters in Chatsworth, California!

Company is currently working remote, but will need candidate to be able to commute to office once reopened.

The IP Counsel will be responsible for providing support to the business teams on US and non-US intellectual property matters, including clearance, protection and enforcement matters, with primary emphasis on anti-counterfeit and counterfeit prosecution strategies. This position is primarily transactional, but will manage some IP dispute resolution as well.

Responsibilities:

1. IP protection, anti-counterfeit program, enforcement, prosecution of infringement matters worldwide excluding China (50% of responsibilities)

2. Product Development Advise and Clearance, requiring regular interaction with the creative teams to review product in development and resolve any conflicts to ensure patent clearance (20%)

3. Management of IP support team (20%)

4, Other legal projects as needed, such as trademark clearance, registration issues, and dispute resolution (10%

Position Requirements

Must have a degree from a recognized law school (top 14 law school) and be duly licensed. Must have a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience as an Intellectual Property attorney handling copyright and trademark clearance, protection and enforcement. Must have experience with consumer products. Must have working knowledge of IP protection on a global scale

This position will report to the General Counsel.
