Job Summary: Preforms services (In-Home and Community) teaching consumers with developmental disabilities.

Job Duties In-home Educator 1: – Train or teach children and/ adults with Developmental Disabilities to accomplish daily living skills in the home and in the community. Follow Individual Service Plan., work basic-level cases and provide training in areas, but not limited to: toilet training, hygiene and grooming, travel training and social skill development. Locate community resources, complete all hours assigned, maintain accurate records, submit all reports as needed, identify and report possible abuse/neglect.

Skills and Educational Requirements: Have problem solving skills, ability to communicate with consumers and supervisors. Current CPR/First Aid (or to be completed within 30 days of hire). Ability to use creativity in following the service plan. Minimum work experience preferably with persons with developmental disabilities. Experience in Adaptive Skills Training of Independent Living Skills. Must be able to maintain appropriate boundaries with consumers and their families. $15.00 p.h.

Follow Individual Service Plan, Work mid-level cases and provide training in areas, but not limited to: personal management of health, money management, and community resources. Locate community resources, complete all hours assigned, maintain accurate records, submit all reports as needed, identify and report possible abuse/neglect.

Skills and Educational Requirements: Must have experience working with persons with Developmental Disabilities. Ability to communicate with consumers and supervisors. Have ability to problem solve. Current CPR/First Aid (or to be completed within 30 days of hire). Ability to use creativity in following the service plan. Minimum two year’s work experience or education in the field working with persons with developmental disabilities. Experience in Adaptive Skills Training or Independent Living Skills. Must be able to maintain appropriate boundaries with consumers and their families. $15.50 p.h.

Job Duties In-home Educator 3: – Train or teach children and/adults with developmental disabilities to accomplish daily skills in the home and in the community. Follow Individual service plan, work high-level cases and provide training in the following areas, but not limited to: housing, support in college, DCFS and court cases, locate community resources, complete all hours assigned, maintain accurate records, submit all reports as needed, identify and report possible abuse/neglect.

Skills and Educational Requirements: Must have experience working with persons with developmental disabilities. Ability to communicate with consumers and families, employees, office personnel and management. Have knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Current CPR/First Aid certification for adults. Ability to use creativity in following the service plan. Minimum three years of experience working with Future Transitions in Independent Living Skills or Parenting and leader on consumer team, Supervise Educator 1 & 2, and experience handling complex cases. Must be able to maintain appropriate boundraies with consumers and their families. $16.00 p.h.

Work Environment: Working in clients homes, visits to schools, social settings, grocery stores, mall, SSI, DMV, banks, etc. Must have reliable transportation, clean driving record, and current auto insurance. No Client transporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, ability to organize, make simple calculations, perform a variety of task at one time, occasionally manage a change of schedule on short notice, ability to use creativity to teach the Individual Service Plan.

Location: Antelope Valley or San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita or East Los Angeles, or Kern County.

**Bi-lingual: Preferred, not required.

Requirements: Car, Auto insurance, Driver license, Drug test, Background check, DMV report for the past 7 years (DMV printout required yearly) 18 years of age +

Availability: Weekdays, Weekends, Full-time, Part-time.

Start Date: Immediate hire – several positions available.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 – $16.50 per hour
