Hulu: Compliance Engineer

We are looking for a data quality analyst to join our Data Governance team.

This role requires acute attention to detail, a strong sense of accountability, collaboration and understanding of large-scale cloud data platform infrastructure.

In this role you will work directly with analytics, data architecture, and data engineering stakeholders to ensure our data ecosystem maintains the highest standards for data quality across our global footprint for Disney Streaming Services.At Disney Streaming Services, data is central to measuring all aspects of the business and critical to its operations and growth.

Data Governance works closely with our data stakeholders and engineering teams to enable data driven business insights while adhering to all compliance guidelines globally to seamlessly deliver best-in-class consumer applications across our streaming properties.Responsibilities : Support data quality roadmaps, strategy and procedures for adhering to facilitate data lifecycle management and data stewardship best practicesUnderstanding of Data Management Principles and Data Quality ImprovementParticipate in discussions on behalf of the governance team with business and data stakeholders globally to ensure the clarity, consistency, understanding and adoption of standard definitions for business metrics and KPIsAssist in compliance audits for key issues related to PII, CCPA, legal guidance, launch preparedness and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

Identifying and inventorying issues, suggested improvements, and aid in tracking and implementing fixes.Serve as a liaison with data stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment, communication and understanding of new and evolving definitions for business metrics and KPIs as they are requiredDraft and driving data lifecycle management procedures, policies and measurementDocument and implement data policies, standards, and procedures for new data environments.Develop and maintain definitions and other data quality documentation for data governance teamDevelop and deliver data quality training across the organization including the implementation of quality oriented controls and frameworksBasic Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree required in information science, data management, computer science or related field preferred2-3 years relevant experience in defining and implementing data governance and quality best practices, documenting data flow & process mapping, or a data steward responsible for the metadata management, data quality KPIs, etc.Experience working with a metadata cataloging, categorizing and lineage platformExperience working with regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR and CCPAExceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skillsStrong experience in documenting data requirements, data strategy and data rules (standardization, cleanse, and validation)Strong analytical and technical skills to troubleshoot issues, analyze the cause, quickly come-up with the possible solution(s), document the changes, and communicate to the change to the organizationAbility to evaluate risks and provide recommendations / solutions in a timely mannerPreferred Qualifications: Minimum two years of experience in the technology industry, knowledge of data and product a plus.2+ years of Python, Spark and SQLHigh familiarity with data platforms and applications such as Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow
