WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR experience
PHR certification preferred or plans to take exam in near future
Valid drivers license and/or access to alternative means of transportation

ABOUT THE ROLE
Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Generalist provides Advancing Justice LA employees human resources support.
The HR Generalist troubleshoots issues with benefits, employee data, and other human resources matters and partners with the HR Manager to solve more complex human resources matters.
The HR Generalist partners with Directors and Managers to recruit candidates, hire and onboard new employees, and off-board departing employees.
This position also monitors the office environment to ensure issues are properly raised and communicated to the key stakeholders.
The pay range for this position is between $24.04 28.85 per hour.
This position is not covered under the Collective Bargaining Unit.
We are looking for our next HR Generalist to join our team in Los Angeles HQ.
Your day-to-day typically includes:
65% Major Responsibilities
Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt personnel, and temporary employees
Conducts new-employee orientations; help write and place job postings
Helps draft job descriptions
Monitors the performance evaluation program and suggests revisions as necessary
Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database
25% Additional Responsibilities
Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, administer open enrollment, and communicating benefits information to employees
Participates in the development of HR departmental goals, objectives, and systems
Assists with employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing
Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
10% Other Duties as Assigned
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as directed
Support the HR Manager in employee relations matters
Helps maintain the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual
Partner with the HR Manager and key stakeholders to map critical HR processes for implementation
