HR Generalist

Our client is a major manufacturer of lighting technology for the entertainment filed, as well as private venues and other personal clients. We are searching for a top notch HR Generalist and Employee Relations Specialist to join our client’s location in the city of Van Nuys.

This is a full time, temp to hire position. First shift, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Monday to Friday.

To be clear, this is an HR Generalist position specifically geared in Employee Relations. As the Employee Relations Specialist; you will be responsible for addressing employee issues and concerns by resolving internal conflicts, policy violations, resolving employee complaints and applying appropriate conflict management techniques.

Additionally, you will also:

  • Leading and managing investigations on ER Issues
  • Maintaining required documentation within the case management system, including intake and investigation notes, supporting documents and final reports and/or evidence of action taken
  • Leading sensitive investigations on policy violations
  • Assisting team members with workforce issues by listening to concerns and handling the case in a sensitive manner
  • Maintaining compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • Leading the incentive pay program and researching and proposing competitive base pay for open positions
  • Posting and advertising job positions
  • Occasionally assist with recruiting; sourcing candidates for various positions when needed

Job Requirements:

This is what we are looking for in your candidacy:

  • You have at least 3-5 years of Human Resources experience with at least 2+ years in Employee Relations
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience
  • You have solid ER case management, investigations and investigation report writing experience
  • You are knowledgeable in Federal, State, and Local Employment (EEO) and labor laws
  • You have experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing effective solutions to resolve problems
  • You know your way around MS Office products
  • As a condition of employment, you may be asked to take and pass a background check and/or drug test.
