Organization Overview
Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California’s most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. We implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services, and health care sectors.

Department Summary
Brilliant Corners’ People Operations Department provides our organization structure and the ability to meet its business needs through managing the company’s most valuable resources- its employees. People Operations key functions include talent acquisition; employee relations; payroll and benefits; people management; compliance; and organizational development.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner supports our statewide organization and leadership team. You will work closely with the HR Manager, to support the Talent Strategy and HR programs and initiatives driving Brilliant Corner’s business objectives.
The Human Resources Business Partner will build internal business partnerships and drive projects that support the organizations strategic objectives. This position requires that the individual be able to build and maintain relationships with senior level leadership as well as employees at all levels. Key success factors are the ability to drive change, challenge the status quo and offer creative solutions to address business needs. In addition, the Human Resources Business Partner is familiar and will stay abreast of California Employment law and other required jurisdictions.
You will do well in this role if you have the capacity for relationship building across the organization with a diverse employee population. This role is heavily focused on employee relations and strategic thinking, while keeping the employee and organization’s best interests.
Position Responsibilities
Conducts weekly, biweekly or monthly meetings with respective business unit leaders.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal counsel as needed/required.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Including, strategic partnership for business units as it relates to all areas of the program’s functions.
Supports People Operations initiatives, projects, and goals. This will include working heavily with our organizational development department and talent acquisition teams.

Physical Requirements
Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.
Salary range for this position is $90,000 – $110,000 annually. This position is being offered at $90,000 – $100,000 annually.
