Description: Our client is currently seeking a Desktop Support Analyst
Gain experience supporting IT Project(s) working in a medical laboratory environment.
The project entails upgrading users from Windows 7/Office2010 to Windows 10/Office365; either an in place/existing machine upgrade or to a new machine upgrade. Ability to work independently and as a large national team. The candidate will be upgrading PCs at the Company Patient Service Centers and Client Offices in their region. Which will require minimum 1hr and for some locations 2+hr drive between sites. Mileage Reimbursements will be provided. Some regions will allow contractors to have a company vehicle IF AVAILABLE… if they pass the required company driving exams. Since the candidate will be visiting Patient Service Centers & Client Offices, the candidate will need to be extremely professional, polish, well-dress, well-groom, patient and respectful as they will be around our Phlebotomist, clients, patients and doctors. They need to be able to reflect themselves as a Company Ambassador. During downtime, the candidate will be asked to perform upgrades at the Company labs so they will also need to be proficient in Microsoft OneDrive data backup and Outlook PST Import. Will need to support both Onsite, Remote and VPN users/sites. Will need to provide timely updates on progress and update metric spreadsheet daily. Will be required to provide post upgrade end user support. Needs to have excellent software and hardware troubleshooting skills. Needs to be able to formally communicate via email, phone and face to face with customers/end users (following covid19 & social distancing policies) with proper ethics. Depending on the site, the resource will be required to travel between Company Sites; Mileage reimbursement between sites will be paid mileage/parking tolls etc.. – Professional (as well as manage stress/pressure) – Quicklearner (eager to learn, can listen attentively & take notes) – Time Management Skills (can juggle multiple requests sensibly, punctual) – Respectful Personality Technical Skillset Required: -Windows 7 Proficiency -Office/Outlook 2010 Proficiency -Windows 10 Proficiency -Office/Outlook 365 Proficiency -User Data/Email migration (OneDrive & conventional data transfer) -Understanding of Laptop/Desktop Encryption (Bitlocker & Credant) – Microsoft SCCM Application Deployment -IT Asset Management tasks -Citrix Workspace familiarity The contractor will need to be physically onsite for each workday. – Use of universal safety procedures for laboratory environment including using Personal protective equipment & Social Distancing requirements. – Strong written and oral communication skills. – Successful experience with managing multiple tasks. – Ability to interact with various departments within the organization and communicate to various management levels. – Responsible for supporting the upgrades of Desktops & Laptops from Windows 7 to either a new system on Windows 10, or an in place upgrade to Windows 10 or an upgrade to Igel Linux OS. -Responsible for providing end users support post upgrade -Responsible for mutually scheduling the end user upgrade including proper communication with end users on timeline and ETA of migration completion. -Physically remove old hardware and install new hardware at a given site for a user. Able to lift 10lbs to assist in the Quest ITAM Hardware Disposal Process. -May be asked to assist in troubleshooting of hardware and software problems for desktop and laptop computers. Install hardware and software on workstations. Utilize ticketing system, when necessary. Re-image computers perform data migrations and restorations, and conduct remote problem solving when required.
