Head of People

As the Head of People, you will be responsible for people development within the organization including HR management, payroll, hiring and training, general development, creating and implementing practices to increase hiring efficiency and growth of internal staff. You will also be leading efforts for employee engagement, creating and implementing new ideas to develop a strong internal culture. Responsibilities: Develop, optimize, and execute the company’s talent processes and policies. Support company leadership in attracting top talent by building an acute understanding of the company’s values, goals, operations, customers, and partners. Develop methods to source strong candidates, and continually improve the company’s marketability. Manage relationships with external recruiting agencies. Create relevant job descriptions for needed roles. Screen applicants according to competency needs and company values/culture. Coordinate the recruiting and interview process. Foster company rapport with candidates. Draft offer letters and manage offer negotiation with prospective employees. Oversee new employee onboarding, orientation, and training. Establish the company’s talent development programs, including quarterly development reviews and training. Attend HR and People Operations events to create best practices. Lead quarterly and bi-annual performance reviews and next steps for employee promotion, improvement, or off-boarding. Manage and administer the company benefits and health insurance offerings, including maintaining relationships with external providers. Supervise all compensation, benefits, and payroll vendors, programs, and policies. Oversee benefits and health Insurance enrollment of employees. Support the accounting and finance teams with accurate employee information. Foster the culture and core values of the company Promote a healthy livelihood of all employees and serve as the primary point of contact for employee with questions, concerns, and feedback. Maintain company compliance with federal and state employment laws. Requirements: 5 years of People Operations and/or Human Resources experience is strongly preferred. A highly trustworthy and empathetic people leader. Detail oriented with a strength in developing, optimizing, and executing processes. A passionate culture leader who desires to unlock the best out of each employee. Exceptional verbal and written communicator to both internal employees and external partners. Energetic and driven personality who thrives in a high-paced, dynamic, small-company environment. Self-driven and ability to work autonomously. Experience with compensation and reward (bonus/commission) strategies and administration. Familiar with US labor laws SHRM certification considered a plus. Able and eager to be co-located with the largest employee base in California.
