Guidance Navigation and Control Systems Analyst – Advanced Development Programs (Evergreen)

Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origins vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As part of a hardworking team of spacecraft development engineers, you will study and develop advanced concepts for launch vehicles, in-space systems, planetary landers, and crewed vehicles. You will be responsible for systems engineering of the Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C) subsystem and its components, including derivation and development of subsystem requirements, performing analyses and trades to validate requirements, and maintaining subsystem specification, error budgets, and performance metrics.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe, repeatable spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is requiredResponsibilities:Support early feasibility studies, subsystem architecture development, definition of subsystem and component trade space, and concept of operationsDerive and develop subsystem requirements, perform analyses and trades to validate requirements, maintain subsystem specifications, error budgets, and performance metricsCollaborate with other subsystems and spacecraft systems engineers to support define subsystem boundaries and interfacesSupport the definition, development, and execution of simulations and tools necessary for verification of subsystem functionalitiesSupport verification and testing, ensuring the subsystem complies to its requirementsRequired:B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineeringApplied industry experience and/or M.S. or Ph.D. focused on development of requirements, interfaces, trade studies and analyses for GN&C subsystemsExperience in modeling GN&C components, and analyzing performance of GN&C subsystem or components via simulation, testing, or analytical methodsUnderstands relationship between GN&C, vehicle sizing, and vehicle automationKnowledge in control, navigation, and astrodynamics fundamentalsExperience in Matlab/SimulinkExperienced in configuration and product data managementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumDesired:M.S. or PhD in aerospace engineering or related technical fieldExperience in development, implementation, and testing of guidance, navigation, and control algorithms on aerospace vehiclesExperience working with GN&C sensors and actuatorsExperience in full development lifecycle of spacecraft GN&C subsystemsExperience designing and evaluating Monte Carlo simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, and software-in-the-loop testingExperience with performing system safety analyses including Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)Experience with collaboration tools such as Gitlab, Confluence, and JIRAThe expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
