The Grind Machine Setup/Operator is responsible for the safe setup and operation of automatic grinding machines to grind springs to specification.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Receive and interpret work orders, samples, prints, and instructions Set up grinder, install tubes, blocks and plates, changing or dressing grinding wheels Grind springs to proper length, squareness, and load specification Periodically check spring dimensions with calipers, load testers, and fixtures to ensure parts are to specifications Complete and maintain all quality records Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of our Quality Management System (QMS) and other regulatory requirements Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed Adhere and comply with the company safety procedures and overall company policies Perform other related duties and activities as assigned based on peak workload

Ability to read and interpret part specifications or blueprints Basic math and recording abilities Strong attention to detail and time management skills Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics Solid understanding of health and safety regulations Use scales that measure in grams and pound
