Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions.

This is an exciting time in Middle Market Banking! We have an opportunity available for a talented, versatile senior leader to serve as a Market Executive within the Middle Market Banking Diversified Sector Management Division for Global Advisory. The Market Executive will focus on building long-term customer relationships and deepening those relationships through strategic thought leadership, strong product knowledge, flawless deal execution and superior customer service, while controlling and mitigating risk.
The Market Executive is a key leadership position responsible for leading and managing the Global Advisory group with the primary goals of providing on a National basis, international products and credit solutions to US headquartered middle market and mid corporate companies engaged in global commerce along with U.S. subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies . Global Advisory actively partners with Middle Market Banking regional bankers to bring global cash flow credit, cross border lending, trade finance, foreign exchange, international treasury management and other specialty solutions to our customers. The team executes credit solutions under a two prong approach: (1) direct underwriting and balance sheet ownership, or (2) advisory engagement with regional middle market bankers.
Responsibilities include:
- Set appropriate “tone at the top” with regard to Wells Fargo’s Priorities & Goals.
- Drive expansion into new markets, if applicable.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all aspects of the middle market banking business within the defined market, including oversight of all aspects of client relationship, reputational, credit, operating and compliance risk management and strategy development.
- Effectively recruit, inspire, retain and grow top talent by setting clear and actionable performance expectations and providing candid, relevant feedback.
- Provide senior-level leadership and collaborative management of relationships with internal partners and other LOBs to influence outcomes, address potential conflict and ensure alignment with commercial banking strategies and goals.
- Develop, implement and monitor market plans that align our clients’ needs with WF’s capabilities; conduct annual market portfolio reviews; ensure client relationship plans are appropriately documented, implemented and leverage the knowledge and insight of the team to achieve the client’s goals and objectives.
- Achieve market/ segment-specific business growth and financial objectives while ensuring adherence to policies, compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as executive advocate and thought leader and build relationships with the largest customers, prominent financial advisors and key market influencers.
- Directly manage Global Relationship Management and Advisor teams within the defined market.
- Represent Wells Fargo in the community through board participation and other leadership roles.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of management experience, leadership experience or a combination of both
- 10+ years of commercial banking relationship management
Desired Qualifications
- Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit policy, compliance, and underwriting requirements
- Leadership experience including mentoring and coaching
- A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, accounting, finance, or other business related field
- Sales and marketing leadership experience
- Ability to develop and execute market strategies, and goals
- Underwriting experience involving advanced commercial and/or specialty group relationship portfolio credit
- Demonstrated experience building partnerships and collaborating with other product businesses within Wells Fargo
- International banking experience
- Experience successfully collaborating with others in a change driven environment
- Experience developing and executing business vision, strategies, and goals.
Other Desired Qualifications
- Commercial banking underwriting experience
- Demonstrated experience building partnerships and collaborating with multiple LOB’s and product partners
- Deep knowledge of global credit and trade finance solutions and international business risks
- 6+ years of direct people management experience is preferred
Job Expectations
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
