Geologist

We are seeking a full time degreed professional with 5-10 years of professional experience.Job duties and responsibilities:• Sampling monitoring wells• Supervise installation and destruction of monitoring wells• Prepare permits, handle waste discharge, etc. related to the above in accordance with regulatory agencies, water and air boards• Maintain field equipment and order supplies, tools and equipment as needed• Prepare Work Plans and Health and Safety Plans and act as site safety officer on site as directed• Solicit bids from subcontractors and prepare cost proposals• Review and process vendor invoices and expenses• Creating tables in Excel and preparing technical reports• Statistical evaluations• Analyze and validate technical data• Prepare Hazardous Materials Business Plans (HMMPs) and Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC)• Preferred 40-Hour Hazwoper Certified• Other duties as directed by a Supervising ManagerQualifications• BA/BS/MS in Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering• Very strong computing skills including high level use of spreadsheets• Strong written and verbal communication skills• 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate• Ability to work closely with various levels of personnel• This position requires a current valid driver license and clean driving record• Ability to work in field environment: long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting up to 50 pounds; recurring bending or similar activities• Ability to travel• Project management experience and professional registration in the appropriate field a plus• Computer skills in Microsoft Office, GeoTracker, MS Project, AutoCad, and Primavera 6 a plus• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriatecompensation: DOE, 401k, health, dental and vision benefits, LTD, life insurance, vacation/PTO, and paid holidays dependent on meeting eligibility requirements.Experience:• Project Geologist / Project Management: 5 years (Required)Education:• Bachelor’s (Required)Location:• Los Angeles, CA (Required)License:• Professional Engineer (Required)
