If you are a Green Dot employee, please apply using the Career Worklet on the Workday Home Page.OPPORTUNITYThe Curriculum Specialist in Secondary Mathematics will support teachers in the implementation of the Green Dot Mathematics Program at multiple schools.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES> Provide teachers with instructional coaching and support to implement grade level CCSS-aligned mathematics instruction to ALL students, including English Learners, Standard English Learners, Gifted and Talented Students, and Students with Disabilities.> Promote standards-based instruction by providing demonstration lessons, focused observations, and professional development on research-based instructional strategies and classroom practices and provide opportunities for teacher reflection.> Assist with curriculum planning to ensure mastery of the CSS standards and GD selected curricular materials.> Provide support and assistance to all school site math teachers in the implementation of the Green Dot Math Program and benchmark assessments.> Assist teachers with the diagnosis of student difficulties in mathematics through the use of student data and evidence and the planning of appropriate intervention strategies for diverse learners.> Work collaboratively with the Math Team, school site administration and department chairs/ teacher leaders to plan and facilitate math professional development.> Collaborate with teachers and other members of the coaching team to develop math pacing guides and benchmark assessments for use across the organization.> Engage in other duties relevant to the successful implementation of the Green Dot Math Program/Initiatives.QUALIFICATIONS> A valid secondary mathematics credential is required> A Masters in Education (or related field) is preferred> Experience teaching Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and/or Statistics is strongly preferred> You are passionate about improving urban schools and driving education reform> You have at least four years of successful teaching of mathematics at the secondary school level> You are able to travel between the district office and school sites/other locations> You are knowledgeable about Common Core Standards Math and the Standards for Math Practice and aligned instruction> You are knowledgeable about differentiated classroom instructional practices that promote student academic success in mathematics> You possess both knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population (EL, SEL, SpEd, and gifted and talented)> You have strong oral and written communication skills> You have experience in collaborative planning and delivery of differentiated staff development to classroom teachers> You have a strong ethical base and self-awareness> You are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve> You will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offerThe information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor is it intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to perform the job.COMPENSATIONThe annual salary for this position is $75,000 – $85,000, depending on experience.
