Full Time SAGE Navigator/Patient Billing Specialist

BAART is looking for a highly organized, professional and enthusiastic candidate to manage and oversee client electronic health records (EHR) within the Los Angeles County’s Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Information System, SAGE.
The SAGE Navigator will serve as the liaison between the County of Los Angeles Substance Abuse Prevention Control (SAPC) and BayMark with respect to the needs for each EHR services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and apply for insurance/payment authorization within the Substance Abuse Prevention Control (SAPC) SAGE system within Los Angeles County.
Appropriately transfer treatment assessments, patient treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information from BayMark records to SAGE system.
Communicate with SAPC as needed for completion of authorizations and reauthorizations and corresponds accordingly with respective BayMark treatment centers.
Enter SAGE authorization numbers into the clinics’ EHR system Monitor outstanding authorization report from the clinic’s billing department Enter patient information into SAGE system as needed.
Must be present during working hours at the office for in person meetings and access to a computer without violating company policy.
Attend staff meetings.
Assist with program development activities.
Communicate with treatment staff regarding pertinent patient information.
Adherence to a code of conduct conducive with BayMark Health Services policy is expected.
Meet or exceed delivery of Company Service Standards in a consistent fashion.
Interact with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the Company’s mission.
Conduct all business activities in a professional and ethical manner.
Complete ASAM A and B training.

Qualifications:
Minimum age requirement of 18.
Have experience working with data entry.
Exhibits excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent documentation and computer skills required.
Knowledge of local community drug trends, the effects on the body and cognitive functioning of drugs of abuse, signs and symptoms of narcotic overdose, psychosocial implications of addictive disease, the process of addiction and treatment, social service, economic, legal, and medical systems, HIV transmission-health, behavioral, and emotional implications of addiction.
Knowledge of applicable State Code of Regulations and 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 8.12 – Federal opioid treatment standards.
California Code of Regulations Title 9 r Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices.
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting.
Self-directed with ability to work with little supervision.
Demonstrate excellent observation, good judgment and communication skills.
Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.
