Fulfillment Associate
The Fulfillment Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely packing and shipping of all orders on a daily basis. The Fulfillment Associate will also contribute to the maintenance of inventory, including ordering inventory, maintaining accurate records of all orders, performing inventory counts, and ensuring security and consistency across the inventory cycle. The Fulfillment Associate will report to the Product Manager. During the holiday season and at other busy times, the Fulfillment Associate will be responsible for training and supporting other team members in helping with order fulfillment.
The Fulfillment Associate is expected to take on the following essential roles and responsibilities:
- Execute daily shipping fulfillment of customer orders and any outbound shipments including all packaging and packing.
- Achieve shipping goals in an efficient manner without compromising deadlines or quality.
- Identify and understand the strongest carrier relationships and opportunities to lower shipping costs by auditing optimal and proper shipping methods.
- Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles
- Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
- Provides inventory reports to the Operations Associate.
- Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
- Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related databases and/or software under the direction of the purchasing or inventory control Associate.
- Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
- Assists with periodic physical inventory counts audits.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Education Requirements:
- An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred, but candidates with strong experience without a degree will be considered
- At least two years of experience in fulfillment, inventory or shipping required.
- Experience with Shipstation, and Shopify are very strongly preferred; experience with similar software will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to understand and review small details regarding merchandise to ensure the correct orders are always sent the first time
- High ethical standards, strong values, integrity, drive to deliver results, and pride in personal and team performance are all imperative.
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues and outside vendors.
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to spend most of the day bending, packing and addressing packing materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
- Must be able to navigate the warehouse and reach items both high and low.
