The Role

The Studio Equipment Coordinator will be responsible for the assignment, upkeep, maintenance and organization of the equipment for multiple LA based studio and field shoots.

Requirements

The Responsibilities
Manage the inventory, assignment, upkeep, maintenance and organization of the studio equipment (not limited to camera, audio, grip & lighting etc.) for multiple LA based studio and field shoots
Offer technical solutions and troubleshoot issues, often over the phone with field crew; fulfill equipment requests in a timely manner
Communicate with Producers, Production Management and crew members on their specific gear needs and plan ahead to ensure all productions have the equipment inventory they need for each shoot
Create and maintain an accurate and up to date inventory management system that can scale with future equipment purchases
Implement efficient system for scanning equipment for check out/in; conduct tests on all equipment prior to check out and upon check in to ensure equipment is reliable for the shoot; clean equipment and perform minor repairs as needed
Organize, purchase and restock the expendables inventory; track usage and expense
Track damages and if needed, obtain quotes, negotiate prices and understand timelines to send equipment out for repairs
Obtain approval, collect invoices and deliver paperwork to the appropriate department for processing of expendable purchases and equipment repairs
Cultivate and nurture relationships with equipment vendors throughout the US
Work with the Production Manager, and on an ongoing basis evaluate the benefit of purchasing vs.

renting specific pieces of equipment
Keep an organized equipment and expendables storage room; ensuring equipment operating rules for stowage and maintenance are followed
If needed, source camera, audio, lighting equipment and other rentals in various locations throughout the US; coordinate shipping as needed
The Qualifications
2+ years of relevant experience on set an Assistant Camera, Camera Technician, Equipment PA, Grip, and/or work at an equipment rental vendor or production company with owned equipment
Requires knowledge of standard crew roles and equipment; understanding of current video production equipment and technology
Interest and/or experience working with digital Creators
Self-motivated, proficient multi-tasker, able to stay organized with multiple simultaneous projects
Enthusiastic team player able communicate succinctly, emanate calm and remain focused in a growing, changing environment
Adept at prioritizing, anticipating potential issues, identifying problems, recommending and implementing solutions
Proven ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Positive attitude with the ability to be flexible
Ability to explain complex technology clearly and succinctly to those without the same technical savvy
Excellent organizational, verbal, written, e-social skills and acumen
Working knowledge of social video content distribution platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Snap, IGTV and TikTok
Must be proficient with Google Workplace (formerly G Suite), Gdrive; experience with inventory software a plus
Flexibility for occasional travel to set and studio as needed
Must we willing to work across multiple time zones and solve for last minute equipment changes/requests on a “on call” basis
Position may require staggered hours requiring late nights, early mornings and occasional weekends pending production schedule
This position will require being physically present at the office/set
This position will require physical demands such as lifting equipment and cases
